I love to go out riding in the beautiful Arizona desert and when I do, I always wear my western belt buckle. However, I wanted to up the class a bit for a blind date I had coming up. We had decided to go on the trail horse riding. I went online to a store called Jewelry Tack Room and found the most beautiful 14 karat gold with silver and diamond horse shoe cuff to wear with my most glamorous belt buckle. I really could not believe how affordable the high end piece of jewelry was and I knew that between the belt buckle, the cuff and my great personality, he would not be able to resist me. I was slightly worried that my new jewelry would not arrive on time for my blind date. In retrospect, I really should not have worried because in about one week, the jewelry had arrived. I was so excited and I ran to my room to put on my date outfit, including my belt buckle and jewelry. I looked at myself in the mirror and I felt absolutely wonderful. I was completely ready for my big blind date.

On the morning of my blind date, I meticulously got ready. I put on all of my makeup and put on my belt buckle and my cuff. I admired myself in the mirror and headed out the door to meet my date. When I got together with my blind date, I was really happy. He was so handsome and one of the first things that he said to me was that he liked my belt buckle and my cuff! Our date went so well and we actually elongated it from what it was supposed to be. A few weeks have gone by and we are still dating! Maybe my belt buckle and my jewelry was good luck. Either way, I could not be more pleased and I think that he is just as happy. I am so glad that I went online to buy new jewelry to wear with my belt buckle. I saved an amazing amount of money and I felt really confident. I cannot wait to see what other items are just waiting to be found out there. There are two possessions that I have that are my absolute favorite things in the world; my favorite pair of cowboy boots and my horse shoe earrings. From the moment that I saw the horse shoe earrings at an online superstore, Jewelry Tack Room, I knew that they were going to be one of my favorite things. Whenever I go out in my cowboy boots, I always wear my beautiful horse shoe earrings. They were actually the first thing I had ever purchased from an online store and I actually came upon them by chance. I had been looking online for new cowboy boots and that was when I found the store. There were so many amazing items ranging from fragrances to house ware items. What was more, I could not believe that the prices on everything were so very inexpensive. The only thing that I was unsure about was how long it would take for me to receive my new earrings and the other items I had found. One of the most tech savvy people I know doesn’t exactly fit into the nerd stereotype. He is actually opposite. Standing a solid 6’1 with tight crew cut, usually wearing tighter jeans with a belt buckle, Tim comes from a long standing family of ranchers. In his element they’ll be cowboy boots on his feet and a hunting rifle rung around his shoulder. I love going to his family ranch because we ride ATVs, shoot targets and fish on the small stream that runs through the back of their property. He has all the makings for a good ol’ boy. What makes him unique to the stereotypical belt buckle wearing cowboy is an obsession with the latest and greatest in technology. This is where we originally found common ground. After we started hanging out more often he saw that like him I also love the outdoors. Electronics and the natural world can coexist. They work well together. For instance, we went fishing on a local lake this past summer and Tim brought a fish finding GPS device to improve our odds. It worked and we had enough bass to last a week after that long afternoon.

He picked me up to grab a drink the other night and I noticed a new bit of technology in his truck. In California, police aren’t lenient on drivers talking with a cell phone glued to their ear. I’m so happy that we are still several weeks from Thanksgiving and yet I’ve got more than half of my Christmas shopping done. It has helped a great deal that I know what to get most everyone on my list, although I’m still not sure about the hunting knives for my brother and nephew. They are both avid hunters and when I called my sister in law to ask if she knew of anything they’d like, she commented that they both needed new hunting knives. I’m definitely game to order them one, but I honestly don’t know much about hunting knives. Unfortunately, she doesn’t either, so I’ve got to find a way to get the information about which hunting knives they would like without making it obvious that it’s for a Christmas gift. I’m pretty crafty, so I know I’ll be able to do it, but I’m still not sure how at this point. It will come to me though- it always does. In the meantime, I’ll start looking at hunting knives online and see what kind of prices I can find and work my way from there.

I’ll Be Breaking in New Cowboy Boots Over Thanksgiving

I am so excited because Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away. I have this brand new pair of really nice cowboy boots that I found online that I plan on breaking in at my wife’s parent’s ranch in Dallas. Every year we head down their way from where we live in Arizona to spend some time with her parents. They have several really gorgeous horses that are boarded at their ranch, and this time around I wanted some flashy new cowboy boots to wear so that I could finally ride in style and properly. My old boots were not doing the job, as they are not cowboy boots. But my wife helped me find the ideal pair of cowboy boots online, and they were on sale as well – which saved us some serious coin. Now, I will be all ready to ring in the holiday and to really enjoy a great ride or two at her parent’s ranch. Just a couple more weeks to go and I will be on holiday vacation again, enjoying time off work with my lovely family.

I laughed so hard this past weekend when I was at my sister’s Halloween party. She went as a cowgirl, complete with cowboy boots. She looked great, but that wasn’t the part that made me laugh. She actually had a huge bale of hay in her living room and also one in the back yard and she had a western saddle that she kept moving from hay bale to hay bale so she could have a place to sit. Her husband moved it for her and everyone thought it was hilarious. We teased her about it being a bull and there was several times when she acted as though she were riding it. She even had spurs on her cowboy boots and she said she’d ordered it all online. I figured it probably cost her a small fortune but she said the prices online were nothing like the store prices. Last night she stopped by and I asked her what she planned to do with all the stuff she’d ordered and she plans to donate it to the local horse stables. My sister thinks of everything.

I grew up in a house that never had guns. To be honest my mom is afraid of them. My dad and I went to the range a couple of times using rentals but it never went farther than that. Mom’s sentiment rubbed off on me and I never purchased a rifle myself. Someday I’d like to but it is one of those expenses best left to the side for the time being. Home security is important though. Not that I think anyone is going to come break down the door but you never know. To ease my mind I bought hunting knives online. They were inexpensive compared to a rifle and do offer a small sense of security if the unthinkable occurred.

Hunting knives are also just great utility tools. Whether it is on the trailhead or trying to open one of those frustrating plastic packages, hunting knives get the job done. Mom and dad called a few days ago to ask if I could help them find a western saddle for one of their neighbors. At first, I thought it odd, because I thought they were actually the ones who were going to buy the western saddle, but as it turns out, they just wanted help with finding one online for a better price than one of the local stores. Mom had told Henry (their neighbor) that I was a whiz when it came to computers and he expressed that they had been looking at a western saddle for their son’s horse and just thought the price was too expensive. She offered to have me look online to see what I could come up with. Just as mom suspected, I was more than happy to help them and I was able to come up with a western saddle online for a better price than the one they’d originally seen. I offered to order it for them and this morning they’re supposed to stop in so we can do just that. I’m always happy to help someone get a great deal.

This past weekend I finally got the chance to go to the county fair. It had been going on all week but because of work and other obligations, I didn’t get the opportunity to get out and go until Saturday. It also happens to be the night that they have the annual rodeo, so I decided to put on my new cowboy boots and belt buckle and dress like a proper cowgirl. If you knew me, that statement would make you laugh because I recently ordered my first pair of cowboy boots ever online when I found them for a good price. I’d actually wanted a pair for a while, and my sister recommended the site so I decided to check it out. My wife and I are so blessed and thankful for everything that we have, and each year when Thanksgiving rolls around we are able to afford to head down to her parent’s horse ranch in Texas for the holiday. I even recently got myself a new pair of cowboy boots that I found online for a really great bargain. You see, the last time that I was out there I did not have any cowboy boots to wear, and I ended up riding the horses anyways, but I found that it was a bit more difficult to do without a good pair of cowboy boots on my feet. This year, however, I aim to arrive there well prepared for the riding that I plan on getting in and enjoying during the brisk days that we will be there—where the weather is just perfect for a nice long ride on their huge plot of land and perhaps a romantic picnic lunch packed as well. Her father will laugh when he finds out I got some new cowboy boots, as he was the one teasing me last time I was out there for not having a pair.

Fall is in the air and Halloween has many inspired to throw a costume party. Costume parties quickly turn an average weekend night into something much more exciting. I got the idea to put together a western saddle party. All I ask is everyone wear something that resembles the wild wild west. Cowboy boots, belt buckles, a tee shirt with a cowboy lassoing something stamped on, the costumes don’t have to be authentic as long as everyone tries it will be a success. One of my least favorite parts about hosting a party is managing the playlist. I love music and have a library of what I think are hits. But there is always someone who wants to hear something that isn’t playing. That is when managing music becomes a headache.

Hunting Knives Early Christmas Gift

The hunting knives that I ordered for my dad and husband arrived this morning and I’m trying to decide now if I want to give it to them as an early Christmas gift so they’ll have the hunting knives when buck season starts, or if I should wait until Christmas day and give it to them as a gift under the tree. I know that they both need the hunting knives, and that’s why I ordered them in the first place. I also know that if I wait until Christmas to give them the knives that the season will be more than half over and I hate to wait when I know they could be using them from the first hunting day. I think that I’ll probably order them a few other small gifts and put them under the tree and give them the hunting knives this weekend, when everyone is going to be at my parent’s home anyway for a work day. Since my parents are older we try to get there several times a year and do yard work for my parents, and this Saturday is the day. The guys are going to be thrilled.

My sister is one of the most fun people to be around that I know. When she does something she goes all out and sometimes it can be quite entertaining to watch. A few days ago she called me in a panic. She’d ordered herself a new pair of cowboy boots and she wasn’t sure where to find a belt buckle to go along with them. Since I’d never known my sister to wear cowboy boots in her life, my first question was why she’d bought them. She told me about the guy she’d been dating and that he wanted to take her to the rodeo where his brother was going to be bull riding and she wanted to look her best. She wanted her boots to match the belt buckle and so forth. I chuckled, but at the same time I was turning on my computer and browsing for sites that would offer a belt buckle that she could be happy with. We are almost into the midway point of October. That means one thing to me. Halloween is almost here. October is one of the most underrated months of the year. There are the costume parties, NFL games and the start of a new NBA season. The weather starts cooling down and that is appreciated considering it’s been so warm in Los Angeles lately. I’m planning to dress up like a cowboy this year. I have the cowboy boots, the flannel shirt was simple to find at a thrift store and with a little bit of searching I found a ten gallon cowboy hat. The last piece of this puzzle is the belt buckle. What cowboy doesn’t have a fantastically eye catching belt buckle?

I don’t want to buy locally because prices get well, pricey pretty quick. I’ve turned my sights to online stores. Online shopping has worked for me in so many different ways I figure buying a belt buckle won’t be any different. I can’t wait for the first costume party. It’s near impossible to have a bad time at a costume party.

I have been looking to get a pair of cowboy boots for quite some time, as it seems that I am riding horses with my wife far more often than I ever did in the past and I am realizing that cowboy boots are the way to go here. But I have never purchased a pair of cowboy boots before, and while I can easily look up different stores online and that sort of thing, I have also noticed that I don’t have a clue as to which are the finest brands, what prices that I should be looking for and that sort of thing. Thank goodness my wife knows a whole lot more about cowboy boots than I ever will, because otherwise I don’t think that I could ever make up my mind on what pair of them to get for myself. However, she is planning on sitting down with me over the weekend and looking online for them to help me out. I am very confident that with her knowing prowess we can easily find the pair of cowboy boots that I need online for a great bargain.

One of my favorite shows on cable is Pawn Stars. There is a unique pawn store in Las Vegas where people bring in some very high value items. They get everything from hot air balloons to treasure chests from hundreds of years ago. They get enough antique and interesting products to base a show around the stories of the best pieces. Last night a man brought in a set of knives he said his grandfather stole from a Army supply depot during WWII. The owner was not so sure. One of the blades resembled buck knives. The others looked like hunting knives because of the antler handle. They brought in a war history expert to confirm or deny what this guy was trying to sell.

After a quick look the knives were in fact from the military. Even the ones that looked like massive buck knives were designed for military men who wound up in jungle terrain. The problem was they were not worth too much. It was really cool hearing the story behind them though. This show is hard to turn off after starting.

Learned How to Ride Western Saddle Thanks to Wife

I finally have been apprised of and have been taught how to properly ride in the western saddle, all thanks to my darling wife. We were out in Dallas visiting her parents, who have this wonderful horse ranch down there, a few weeks back. I was okay at riding in the western saddle, but I really could have used for some serious schooling. No problem, my darling significant other was happy to show me, and she has had western saddle riding lessons ever since she was a little girl. So sufficed to say that she really did know what she was talking about. The cool thing that I realized was that riding in the western saddle was a whole heck of a lot easier than I had ever envisioned it to be so. We got some great riding in that day, and it only took her about an hour or so to show me the ins and the outs of riding in the western saddle. You can bet that I was pretty satisfied upon getting home. Now, I know how to ride horses just like the cowboys did back in the day.

Makeshift Spear Fishing Using Buck Knives

When my friend started telling me about his new plans to start spear fishing, it caught my attention. Sure, I’ve seen people in rural areas of the world spear a fish at the local river on TV but I never knew it was akin to actually throwing a worm on a hook into the water. My buddy is angler—has been since I met him. So when he started talking about spear fishing I knew he was serious. He borrowed the necessary gear and bought a spear made for this type of fishing. With plans to go out this weekend I wanted to come.

I don’t have a spear per say but I do have buck knives. With enough duct tape and the right pole, a knife tapped on the end would work fine. Buck knives are durable. A little water shouldn’t mess up the strength of the blade. I knew there was a reason I bought a couple of hunting knives online earlier in the year. It’ll be interesting to see if we catch any fish. What I don't have is flippers.

Unforgettable Adventure With Trucks and Hunting Knives

After a friend told me about a natural hot springs buried deep at the end of 30 miles of rural paved and unpaved road, we planned a camping trip there. He’d been there a few times before and was quick to tell me it is the most beautifully scenic landscape he’s experienced. He’s been around the world too. Located in a valley behind the largest mountains east of Santa Barbara, the drive up was as intimidating as it was beautiful. A skinny road wrapped with multi-million dollar homes peppered the landscape halfway up. By the time we made the ridgeline and started driving along it towards the dirt trail that snakes back down the other side towards the forest preserve, the view showcased the ocean to the west underneath a picturesque bed of clouds. At least a couple hundred feet above the clouds and much higher above the city below, we pulled over and snapped pictures. My friend was not lying about the view. It is the kind of place I’m going to take anyone who comes to visit and doesn’t believe Southern California is more than urban sprawl and pollution.

Up until the dirt road any car could make it to the summit. Once the asphalt turned into dusty washes and stone step-downs the real fun began. I took action shots rallying down the road in trucks ripping around turns higher than we wanted to think about. At one point our truck went sideways and just missed a boulder that would have tipped us over. Once at the bottom the hunting knives came out and we started looking for firewood. By this time the sun had started to set. A ranger on a western saddle, wearing cowboy boots and a belt buckle warned us of poison oak by our camp. We needed a nights worth of fire and the hunting knives were going to help us cut down the right sized kindling. I documented all of this with my camera. Every once in a while crunching of animals in the brush near us caught our attention. My sister called me last night to tell me that my 4 year old nephew wants to be a cowboy for Halloween this year. I couldn’t say that I was surprised since he’s shown an interest in horses and the Wild West recently. She said that she’d seen some costumes but she really didn’t think they were that great, so she was thinking that maybe she could get him a pair of cowboy boots, a western shirt and a belt buckle and maybe create a costume on her own. I actually thought this was a great idea since it would give Justin the opportunity to play cowboys and Indians at home after the holiday was over. I also had a feeling that once he got a pair of cowboy boots that he’d probably want to sleep in them. I suggested that I do a little searching online to see what I can come up with and she said that while I did that she’d look locally and we’d get together sometime next week to see what kind of prices we’d found and go with the best prices on the cowboy boots and other western wear. I have no doubt that shopping online will bring the best prices.
