buck knives, hunting knivesWhen my friend started telling me about his new plans to start spear fishing, it caught my attention. Sure, I’ve seen people in rural areas of the world spear a fish at the local river on TV but I never knew it was akin to actually throwing a worm on a hook into the water. My buddy is angler—has been since I met him.  So when he started talking about spear fishing I knew he was serious. He borrowed the necessary gear and bought a spear made for this type of fishing.  With plans to go out this weekend I wanted to come.

I don’t have a spear per say but I do have buck knives. With enough duct tape and the right pole, a knife tapped on the end would work fine. Buck knives are durable. A little water shouldn’t mess up the strength of the blade. I knew there was a reason I bought a couple of hunting knives online earlier in the year. It’ll be interesting to see if we catch any fish. What I don't have is flippers.
