I finally have been apprised of and have been taught how to properly ride in the western saddle, all thanks to my darling wife. We were out in Dallas visiting her parents, who have this wonderful horse ranch down there, a few weeks back. I was okay at riding in the western saddle, but I really could have used for some serious schooling. No problem, my darling significant other was happy to show me, and she has had western saddle riding lessons ever since she was a little girl. So sufficed to say that she really did know what she was talking about. The cool thing that I realized was that riding in the western saddle was a whole heck of a lot easier than I had ever envisioned it to be so. We got some great riding in that day, and it only took her about an hour or so to show me the ins and the outs of riding in the western saddle. You can bet that I was pretty satisfied upon getting home. Now, I know how to ride horses just like the cowboys did back in the day.
