western saddle, belt buckleFall is in the air and Halloween has many inspired to throw a costume party. Costume parties quickly turn an average weekend night into something much more exciting. I got the idea to put together a western saddle party. All I ask is everyone wear something that resembles the wild wild west. Cowboy boots, belt buckles, a tee shirt with a cowboy lassoing something stamped on, the costumes don’t have to be authentic as long as everyone tries it will be a success. One of my least favorite parts about hosting a party is managing the playlist. I love music and have a library of what I think are hits. But there is always someone who wants to hear something that isn’t playing. That is when managing music becomes a headache.

After returning to Jewelry Tack Room at http://www.jewelrytackroom.com/ I found the perfect tool in deprioritizing music for the western saddle costume party. Featured above, the DLO iDirect Remote Control allows users freedom of movement from their MP3 player. Designed for iPods, the infrared receiver clicks onto the MP3 device allowing the remote to control volume, browse playlists and change tracks. The remote range is more than strong enough to work anywhere in my apartment. So if I’m in the kitchen and a girl asks for a dance song I can easily click into a playlist of nothing but dance hits.

I’m not going to plan any line dancing but put together a bunch of people in cowboy boots and belt buckles with beers in hand there is no telling what could happen. I’ve used Jewelry Tack Room so many times for electronic needs. After the western saddle party, I’ll still find lots of use out of the MP3 player remote. From working out in the living room to falling asleep with a little background music there are so many situations made better with remote control.

As for my western saddle outfit, I’m going to scour all of the local second hand stores for anything resembling the Woody from Toy Story get-up. I need a red cowboy hat, worn pair of cowboy boots and shining belt buckle preferably with a coyote in front of cactus howling at the moon. As for the party refreshments, I’m think a lot of American lagers. The only western saddle inspired song on my playlist so far is Wild Wild West (see above)from none other than Will Smith. I have some work to do on the music side of this party. At least the remote will make life easier during the party.
