hunting knivesI grew up in a house that never had guns. To be honest my mom is afraid of them. My dad and I went to the range a couple of times using rentals but it never went farther than that. Mom’s sentiment rubbed off on me and I never purchased a rifle myself. Someday I’d like to but it is one of those expenses best left to the side for the time being. Home security is important though. Not that I think anyone is going to come break down the door but you never know. To ease my mind I bought hunting knives online. They were inexpensive compared to a rifle and do offer a small sense of security if the unthinkable occurred.

Hunting knives are also just great utility tools. Whether it is on the trailhead or trying to open one of those frustrating plastic packages, hunting knives get the job done. There is one in my earthquake survival kit just as there is one in my nightstand. Peace of mind and a solution to lots of random situations; a good knife is always a smart thing to have around the house.
