cowboy boots, western saddle

Since moving into my new home a couple of years ago, I have not taken the time to truly decorate it as I wanted.  I love the western themes, and I decided to utilize some western items to decorate.  Since my husband wears cowboy boots, a western belt buckle and uses Buck knives for hunting knives, I thought I should raid his closet for some older western attire he no longer wears.

I found a great pair of cowboy boots, and since they looked pretty worn, I decided to utilize them.  After getting his permission (which really wasn't easy...he is a true cowboy at heart), I cleaned the old cowboy boots up, placed them at an angle and sprayed them to maintain their shape.  I then asked my uncle about an old western saddle he had in his barn.  Surprisingly, he gave it to me...and I started my transformation.  I cleaned that saddle until it shined beautifully, and then I put it in the corner of the great room.  I then placed the cowboy boots nearby with a couple of old buck knives coming from within.  Then I found some silk flowers and vines, and I placed them in the cowboy boots and let the vines run around the buck knives.  It was quite a site.

I had a small women's belt buckle that could pass as western; so, I attached it to the wall and ran a piece of chiffon through it ending at the western saddle.  It doesn't sound like much; but, it was really pretty.

Since my uncle was gracious enough to donate the western saddle, I went online and found an internet store called Jewelry Tack Room located at http://www.jewerytackroom.com/.  There I found a perfect silver money clip, and I ordered it.  I plan to have it engraved for him for this generosity.

After I completed the decorating task, I was more than pleased.  In fact, I was so pleased that I found a wonderful silver bracelet at the online store, and I added that to my shopping cart.  It is nice to find a good store with a high quality of merchandise at low discount prices.  I saved a lot by decorating with items on hand; so, I could afford a few gifts...and I do love buying gifts!

Guess I might look at the watches online for Father's Day for my Dad...and then there is my husband...and of course, there is our wedding anniversary in two months...
