belt buckle, hunting knivesThis is the time of the year where it gets very hard to stay indoors as the summer sun begins to shows its face. My mind has moved to camping, hiking, swimming and all of the other activities that are a far cry from standard dreary day living room entertainment. I’ve started going through all the camping gear in the closet to figure out what needs to be replaced. My hunting knives look sharp, the sleeping bags still have padding and the moths have not eaten any holes into our camping tent. My roommate has been researching the highest rated local campsites, hunting grounds and hiking trails. The consensus is there are a lot more places within 2 hours of where we live than ever before thought. He recently bought a .22 caliber rifle to hunt small game. I figure this would be a really exciting way to spend an afternoon. The one thing we both don’t have is a nice set of binoculars.

I went to the Jewelry Tack Room at http://www.jewelrytackroom.com to see what they had. Amongst cowboy boots, belt buckles and assorted outdoor gear I found the well priced Olympus Trooper 7X35 DPS I Binocular - 7x 35mm - Prism Binoculars seen in the picture above. These would come in handy when tracking pheasant, while hiking or just taking a closer look at the surrounding environment. Such a purchase will have us ready for the summer out in nature. Our hunting knives is ready to go.

My roommate is one of those people who grew up mounting a western saddle, polishing his belt buckle and sharpening buck knives. I also grew up in a rural area of America but with more of a suburban feel. While I have some survival skills from running around the woods growing up, he is well versed in living off the land. I look forward to getting out into neighboring mountains and learning about hunting, tracking and hiking tips.
Shopping online has helped me save money that I can then use for buying outdoor gear like binoculars. It is hard to focus on work this time of the year. There is just so much to do when the sun is shining. Over here in Southern California, it hasn’t been rainy by any means but it has been windy and cool. This next 30 days is the perfect time for outdoor adventure as it won’t be extremely hot. Here is to a great summer and lots of days in the fresh air.
