What to Do with a Western Saddle? |

My mom called over the weekend to tell me about a garage sale she had with a few neighbors. It was as she called it, “a way to start the summer fresh.” We have had countless garage sales over the years. Some are big successes and other times I ended up hauling all those old books, stuffed animals, kitchen gadgets and dead technologies back up to the attic. She asked if I’d ever bought a brown western saddle before. Never. I’ve only ridden a horse a couple of times, why would I need a western saddle? She ended up with one after bringing all her garage sale supplies back home once it was over. She doesn’t ride horses either. No one in our family does.
The only thing she could think of was one of the people traded our neighbor a western saddle for some garage sale item and my mom accidently grabbed it. If not next time I go home, I’ll at least be equipped to visit the local equestrian center. It could work as a great prop too for any of the young kids in the neighborhood who like making movies.
