Telling a Story with Belt Buckles |

I’ve never purchased a belt buckle online or owned one for that matter. It wasn’t until this past Sunday that I realized how intricate a belt buckle can be. A couple of friends and I walked a few blocks down to a county bar none of us had ever stepped foot in. Living in the LA area, small town feeling bars are widely outnumbered by rock, electronic or hip-hop hotspots. Two of us grew up in small towns and knew how fun a cowboy bar can be. We got in there after midnight and it wasn’t very packed. An older lady sang Lady Gaga on the stage, people drunk from a long stay stumbled around and we made our way to the dart boards.
Next to us was this young guy wearing cowboy boots, a white cowboy hat, tight jeans, a red plaid shirt and brass belt buckle. He immediately started talking to us. It was apparent this guy was sloshed but he was really nice. His attention quickly turned to a table of ladies where he explained the story behind his belt buckle. It featured a picture of a farm, horse and other things I couldn’t make out but he said it represented his roots, riding on the family farm, building a barn and finally moving out to start a saddle company.
